1/700 Water Line Series
Japanese Navy Destroyer Sakura
Item No: 31429
Length: 143mm.
To make up for increasing destroyer losses during WWII, the Japanese Navy created the "Tei Type" destroyers which featured simplified construction. This is an assembly kit of the Sakura, the 13th ship of this class which was completed in November 1944 and sunk by a mine in July 1945. The simple design of the "Tei Type" destroyer is accurately reproduced, as are her heavy AA armament including additional single 25mm guns. Details such as the anchors, No.13 air search radar, and masts are also sharply rendered. Line it up with her sister ships for an interesting comparison.
